Our customers are owners, designers, yards, and manufacturers Chinese ship building and offshore industry. This environment has high requirements on our competencies, quality of deliverables, communication skills and ability to build sustainable relationships with our clients. Due to the growth of our market in China for drilling and non-drilling jack-ups, we are looking for serveral senior structural engineers working for Hull Section who will directly report the head of section. Responsibilities: The Senior Engineer is responsible for the plan approval and design review of structural design and naval architecture design of Jackups. This includes Drilling Jackups, Liftboats, MOPU (Mobile Offshore Production Units) and accommodation units. Work will comprise computer modeling and analysis using software such as SESAM , SACS etc. The role also includes interaction with Owners, Shipyards, vendors in order to build relations, give guidance and advise with regard DNV GL rule requirements. Essential Functions: - Take a lead role for plan approval of structural documentation for Jackups - Co-operate and communicate closely with colleagues and clients to secure effective execution of new build projects in accordance with plans and expectations. Discuss and guide Shipyards, Rig Owners andVendors about DNV GL rule requirements. - Carry out own as well as guide and verify colleagues in structural analysis (global hull analysis, local analysis, fatigue etc.)of jackups - Carry out review local of designers FE analysis and design calculations - Interface with Project Managers - Execute, plan and manage approval projects - Co-ordinate and work in integrated multidiscipline project teams - Take active part in sales and marketing and development of client relations Job Requirements: Relevant VQSC elements preferred, but not mandatory as relevant training will be given Qualifications - BSc., MSc. or PhD. degree within naval architecture or structural engineering - Experience within structural calculations of jack-ups, lift boats or similar - Experience within Finite Element Modeling and analysis - Proficient with DNV GL Rules and relevant International standards - Experience with hydrodynamics, - Experience with dimensioning of structures include global and local strength and fatigue - Good command of oral and written English - Ability to take high work load in periods including involvement in several projects simultaneously - Strong written and verbal communications skills Personal Qualities - Analytical and structured mindset - Strong organizational skills required - Ability to combine theoretical knowledge and practical skills - Strong customer focus - High ethical standard - Result-oriented and proactive - Cultural awareness and a wish to develop in an international environment - Interest in building and growing a positive internal work environment and long term relations with clients
