DNVGL Software is part of DNVGL and almost 300 DNVGL offices in 100 countries enable us to be close to our customers and share best practices and quality standards throughout the world. DNVGL Software has a long history as provider of advanced software for design and analysis of marine propulsion systems and rotating machinery. Our software package Nauticus Machinery is used by ship yards and designers world-wide. To maintain and strengthen our position we are now looking for software developer strengthening our competent development team. Responsibilities The main tasks for the successful candidates will be 1. Develop for products: Nauticus Machinery ? Shaft alignment ? Vibration analysis (torsional, axial and lateral vibrations) ? Shafts and shaft couplings ? Reduction gears ? Propellers ? Controllable pitch mechanism 2. Programming in ? Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, Fortran ? Microsoft . framework ? Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) 3. Work closely with stakeholders both in Shanghai and Oslo 4. Development and organization of software training courses 5. Support to our sales- and marketing staff in worldwide 6. Planning and estimation of features in our Nauticus Machinery software package 7. Verification and documentation of software The candidate will work as part of a team consisting of 10-15 developers and testers. The team is to some extent co-operating with developers in DNVGL Software in Norway. We are practicing agile (scrum) software development and testing processes for all our products. Qualifications, skills and experience We are looking for candidates with capability and attitude to resolve complicated technical challenges working both independently and as a part of a team. It is an advantage, but not a prerequisite, to have some domain competence in marine propulsion systems and rotating machinery. The successful candidate must be business oriented, self-disciplined and with interest in combining domain knowledge (marine engineering) with software testing skills. Basic qualifications for the position are: 1. Master or PhD in Marine Technology, Marine Machinery or equivalent 2. Knowledge about fatigue and vibration analysis 3. Knowledge about finite element method 4. Some experience with software engineering, but this is not a prerequisite 5. Some experience of programming in C# and ASP. is preferred 6. Curious to learn more about software engineering and product development 7. Good verbal and written communications skills in English 8. Analytical skills 9.
